Deciding on ideas for this challenge is, well, challenging!
The card on the left starts with a black card stock base card.
With white card stock, Distress Oxide black soot ink, and Newton’s Nook designs “Candy Corn” I stamped using my homemade wreath template.
(This I made with heavy card stock and my largest Spellbinders octagon die).
Once the ink was dry I used an every day pencil to shade the corn to look more like petals.
With the black card stock and Lifestyle crafts nesting circles dies I cut a center, then with white card stock another center that I stamped with the Distress Oxide ink and a sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs “Little Lilies”.
This card I am also entering to the Time Out Challenge of “Encouraging” as I feel that we should encourage ourselves to enjoy the little things!
The card on the right started with a white card stock base card with a layer of black card stock.
On another piece of white card stock I placed a circle mask and sponged with Distress Oxide black soot ink, removed the mask, placed Newton's Nook designs “Flying Bats Stencil” over the whole piece and sponged it with the Distress Oxide ink.
On another piece of white card stock I stamped the candy corn from Newton’s Nook Designs “Candy Corn” and Newton’s Nook Designs “Newton’s Perfect Pumpkin” kitty image using Memento tuxedo black ink.
Once dry I colored them with Copic markers, trimmed them out with scissors and glue dotted them to the front of the card.
To finish I stamped the sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs “Newton’s Perfect Pumpkin” with the Memento ink under the main piece.
Your black and white encouragement card using the candy corn as petals is striking. And who could resist Newton with his armful of candy corn in its traditional colors. Two lovely cards, thank you for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge #21.
