happy birthday flower…

I’m going to be really honest about this card.
I love the card, I hated stitching it and die cutting it.
I found this Spellbinders “Stitched Flower” die on sale and wanted to try stitching.
Now don’t get me wrong I am a stitcher.
I do counted cross stitch, appliqué, hand quilted quilts, etc.
But this is NOT my thing.
However if it’s yours here is what I did.
The base card is white linen card stock.
With the die from My Favorite Things Stamps “Happy Birthday Circle Frame” I cut more white linen card stock and glued it to the card front.
With even more linen card stock I used the Spellbinders die to cut the leaves and flowers.
This I stitched with DMC flower threads.
To finish I glue dotted it to the card front.

  1. I too have those dies, and it's certainly not my style of stitching either (from one stitcher to another) ... but one has to try to find that out!! Love what you have done here Arlene, and it was worth the effort

  2. Well Arlene, even though you don't like this kind of stitching - you sure created a lovely card with your embroidery stitching on these die cut blooms and leaves! Thanks for sharing with us at Inkspirational! Julia xx

  3. Is it the stitching on paper that's not appealing to you? I, too, cross-stitch and stitch with felt, but haven't really dabbled with paper stitching...and I just bought the new Lawn Fawn embroidery hoop! EEK! You certainly made a lovely card, even so; colours and stitching are fabulous! So thrilled you joined us at Inkspirational!
