silhouettes...

Thought it would be fun to show two seasons of the same flower.
The first is Summer with the flowers and then Autumn with just the stems.
The Autumn card for Thanksgiving starts with a cream card stock base card with a layer of dark brown card stock.
The main piece is more cream card stock that I made a background of Distress stain barn door, spiced marmalade and crushed olive.
Next I placed the Tim Holtz “dot fade” stencil over the top and sprayed with Distress Oxide ground espresso ink.
Once dry I stamped the sentiment from Stampin’ Up’s “Hand-Penned Holidays” and  and image from Stampin’ Up’s “stem silhouette” using StazOn timber brown ink.

The Summer card is a white card stock base card with the sentiment from Stampin’ Up’s “Sheltering Tree” using Distress wilted violet ink.
The main piece is white card stock that I stenciled using Tim Holtz’s “Stripes” stencil with Distress twisted citron ink one way and Distress wilted violet the other way.
This I die cut using a die from MFT Die-namics “Stitched Basic Edges”.
To get the flowers I used the stamp from Stampin’ Up’s “Stem Silhouette” set and Distress twisted citron ink for the stems and a foam dauber with Distress wilted violet ink for the flowers.

  3. Loving your cards Arlene - the Thanksgiving one is stunning with all the texture and the 'seed head' look of the flowers. I thought the summer card had used another layer on the original, but then I read you had used a finger dauber - very clever work, and stunning results
    Stay safe
    Blessings
