My inspiration for this card comes from May, England and my hubby.
The poppy is the flower for...
...in England, we in the states have Memorial Day and that’s when my hubby used to sell poppies with his VFW (Veteran Of Foreign Wars).
The base card is white linen card stock.
The main piece is water color paper with the poppy from Penny Black’s “blooming garden” with MFT insulation pink hybrid ink.
Then I colored it with Derwent Inktense pencils and a water color brush.
Once it was dry I stamped the 1/2 the Soldier verse (unknown company) usingDistress hickory smoke Archival Ink.
This is beautiful, Arlene! Love the soft pink color and shading with the colored pencils! It reminds me a little of my reminder card. Great minds think alike! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
ReplyDeleteOh, my, Arlene, this is frameable art! It's exquisite no-line watercoloring and I love the bold sideways Soldier sediment!! Hugs, Darnell
