When the granddaughter goes to see the mermaid...

..then you take a trip to the nearest stamp store so you can get a card made for her!

and

The base card is white card stock and I sponged Newton's Nook Designs "Waves Stencil" on the front with Distress peacock feathers ink.
Over to the BigKick to die cut the heart using Newton's Nook Designs "Darling Hearts Die" from the front of the card.
I glued the heart onto the inside of the card using the front as a guide.
On another piece of white card stock I stamped the mermaid from Avery Elle's "Mermaids" set with StazOn jet black ink and colored her with Faber Castell polychromos pencils.
After trimming her out I attached her to the inside of the card.
To finish I used the verse from the same stamp set and adjusted it to go around the curve at the bottom of the heart and stamped it with the StazOn.
