Seeing green...

RRCB 68

The base card for this challenge is white card stock with a layer of lime green textured card stock.
The main piece is watercolor paper, on which I stamped the tree from Stampin' Up's "Sheltering Tree" (2006) using Distress Oxide frayed burlap ink.
The leaves were stamped with Distress Oxide lucky clover and twisted citron ink.
I sponged twisted citron over the front of the entire card and stamped the grass with the same.
It was time to spritz the card with water, count to ten and blot with a paper towel, I did this to get the whitish effect as in the photo.
Finally I stamped the verse with the frayed burlap and to match the red in the photo I stamped the swing with Distress Oxide candied apple.

  1. What a lovely summer scene! I really like the sponged background and the way the red swing pops out at us, just like the chair. You've made a fabulous interpretation of both the colours and the photo. Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber.

  3. This is so pretty! I love that stamp set as well, which is why I can correct the date you have for it. Stampin Up has actually had two stamp sets names Sheltering Tree, one in 2006 and the second in 2015, which is the one you used. I didn't start stamping till 2011 so I knew that one had to be younger than 2006! LOL Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.
