So in my last posting...
...I said I would explain why and how I made the last card and show my others!
I am trying to relieve space in my craft room and this past week it meant going through my embossing folders.
There were some that went right to Ronald MacDonald house, some to my stamping group, most I kept, but there were a handful I just wasn't sure of and decided to hold them until I had a challenge where I could play with them and decide if they were keepers.
This morning I woke up early and pulled out some watercolor paper and a tree folder by Darice.
I embossed two of them using the watercolor paper and my BigKick.
It was pretty on it's own because of the textured paper but I am making Autumn cards and wanted to add color.
The first one I lightly colored with Distress inks gathered twigs, wild honey, peeled paint, fired brick, antique linen and rusty hinge.
Then added water with a watercolor brush to pull out the color.
Now don't get me wrong, I liked it...but I wanted a little less color, not quite so bold.
So I pulled out my Derwent Inktense pencils and colored around the stems, leaves and trunk...
This was definitely the one I wanted to enter in the challenge.
I trimmed it down, stamped the "happy fall" (unknown company) using Adirondack mushroom ink, and taped it to the front of the watercolor base card.
Now it's your turn to decide...
which do you like better?
Leave a comment so I know if I entered the right one!
