A wonderful improptu meeting at Michael's...

I don't know, if you all know, that I used to work at The Stamp Pad for lynda Pleckan! So it shouldn't surprise anyone that I HAD to get her the set of Holiday screens (check my posting 2 back) to play with when I saw them on clearance at Michael's for $1.99 (turned out to be $1.49 when I got to the register).
While I was looking at the box in my hand a gentleman next to me asked if I knew what they were for. Assuming he was a husband looking for information I said,"Yes, do you?" Turns out he was the area rep for Hampton Art. (Egg all over my face)
Mr. Gallagher (hope I spelled it right!) was the same rep who used to come into The Stamp pad when I worked there! We had a nice visit and I told him how much I love the Holiday Screens and had used them on my blog!!!
We parted with holiday greetings and I went to A.C.Moore next, where they were having a sale on their holiday stamps, 50% off. I picked up the Hampton Art cling set called "Cling Merry Christmas" (couldn't beat half price). I brought it home and used it with my Holiday Screen fronts to create the following cards.

The above card has the Holiday screen snowman spritzed with denim blue Adirondack, I stamped the holly from the Hampton Art set applying buttons over the berries. "Very Merry " (from Stampin' Up) was stamped in Adirondack cranberry then punched out with oval punches and backed in green. I then added a paper clip!
This card was spritzed with the same Adirondack denim using the branch (or what I like to call it...pine cone) Holiday screen. I stamped the Merry Christmas from the Hampton Art cling set, wrapped sheer navy ribbon around the end and applied the snowflake button with a Zot dot!

What a wonderful day playing with my new stamps. Hope you all have time over the next week to try anything new you have. If you don't have anything get out to the stores. Prices are low and stamping supplies last a long time!!!

Santa Claus is coming to...

The above card was for my friend and her husband. She is a cold weather hater!!! I figured this Santa, by Stampin' Up, was perfect to put her in the Christmas spirit without chilling her! I stamped the tree and the Santa twice. I trimmed out the palms and layered with foam tape, I also cut out the Santa and layered him onto the card front, then trimmed out the Santa head and layered it on with foam tape.
The above Santa here was made by folding a piece of card stock in half and running it through the Cuttlebug with a Spellbinders scalloped circle punch. I layered white card stock and patterned paper and divided it with a piece of red card stock. I then stamped the Stampin' Up star Santa on white card stock, colored with pencils and cut him out to layer on the card with foam tape!

This is what happens when I shop for cardstock...

I went shopping at Michael's and found card stock on sale for 4/$1. I also found a set of ten "Holiday Screens" by Hampton Art stamps (using my 40% off it was less than $3.00). They are plastic design pieces that you can place on card stock and using a "Mini mister" by Ranger filled with Adirondack Denim dye ink and water, you spritz until the back ground is full. Then carefully remove the plastic piece and allow it to dry.
Stamp the saying and you are all set!

These above cards were made by taking the plastic piece carefully off the spritzed card stock and placing another piece of card stock on the ink filled side of the plastic. It actually acts as a stamped image!!! On the top card, after it dried, I used the Tim Holtz shader over a punched out oval, to make the soft colors for the back ground.

Yes, I was up early this morning  to create.
I just couldn't wait to "play" !

My birthday gift!

No my birthday is in September not December. But a lovely friend at work gave me some pearled ribbon and poinsettia stickers for my birthday and I just had a ball creating with them. I had just gotten the Spellbinder Eyelet Circles die as another birthday gift.
What fun!

A suggestion: Check out the craft stores after the holidays when their stickers, etc. go on sale. You never know what you will be able to create!
