Recollections do wonderful paper packs for scrapbooking but they also work extremely well for card making.
The base card is grey card stock.
The strip is from a piece of card stock in the paper pack trimmed down.
The main piece is also from a piece of the patterned paper with multiple rectangle images.
Behind that is a piece of silver glitter paper.
Using the same glitter paper and a Punch Bunch snowflake punch I punched out the snowflakes which I applied with glue dots.

As you say, when you have one paperpad that works as perfectly as this why complicate things? A really beautiful, crisp card that's still pretty. Thanks for playing along at 52CCT.
