memories of my Dad...

This card has a story of my Dad which I will relay after the card information.

The base card is kraft card stock.
There is a layer of blue stone card stock and patterned paper.
To make the belt I trimmed a strip of kraft card stock and cut it in the middle.
I applied one piece on the left side of the card and stamped the verse from Newton’s Nook Designs “Cocktail Mixer”  to the belt with StazOn timber brown ink.
Taking the other piece of the strip I used my corner rounder to get the bevel on the end of the belt.

Next it was time to punch out the holes with my 1/8” hole punch, but first I used a ruler to measure out where I wanted to punch them.
I had this old buckle die (unknown company) that I die cut the buckle from and used a strip of the same card stock, a bit browner, for the pin.
I applied that to the front of the card and trimmed off the edge.
On the 3 kraft card stock circles I stamped the low ball glass from the same set, using the same ink and coloring them with Prisma pencils then applied them to the card front as per the sketch.

Now the story...
I was a child who had chronic bronchitis and coughed incessantly when I came down with it.
One of my best memories was a time when Dad came home from a fire, he was a fireman for our city, and was relaxing with his high ball of water, whiskey and ice.
The ice had melted when I came down the stairs coughing my little lungs out, must have been about 8, and crawled up in Dad’s lap.
I just could not stop coughing and Dad felt so bad for me that he gave me a sip of his drink...and the miracle happened.
I stopped coughing.
The whiskey must have cut the phlegm!
I fell asleep in his lap.
So this Father’s Day card is for my Dad!
