red, white and blue hello…

While cleaning out some of my stash in the basement I found my tote that I used to take to stamping parties.
In that tote was this roll of drywall tape…

This reminded me of a very old technique, long before the wonderful stencils that are available today, we used this as a stencil!
On a white card stock base I applied the drywall tape and a piece of artists tape and stenciled with Distress candied apple ink on one end and stormy sky on the other end!
Using Tim Holtz “Perspective Butterfly” die and dark blue card stock I die cut it and applied it to the card front.
With the sentiment die from Tim Holtz “Springtime” Side Kick Side Order die I cut it from red card stock and glued it to the front.

  1. Loved stenciling with that tape - unfortunately they now use a sold tape here, and I can't get anymore.... loving your dramatic card - the red and blue backgrounds are gorgeous, and that butterfly is wonderful
    Stay safe
