I am honored again to be guest designing.
This time for CAS Stencil Challenge.
Being able to dig into my Christmas stash I found a new stencil from the Simon Says Stamp “Gnome for the Holidays” set and stenciled it to a white card stock card with Distress forest moss ink.
When I really wanted a bird in the tree I chose to make my stencil by die cutting a piece of scrap paper with the bird die from Paper Smooches “Seasonal Tree” then stenciling it with Distress candied apple ink.
To finish I stamped the sentiment from MFT Stamps “Aim For The Clouds” with MFT Extreme Black hybrid ink.
Please note that CAS Stencil challenge is also celebrating it’s first birthday...
Though to many this may not seem like a birthday card I have stamped the sentiment “It’s a Good Day To Be Happy” from the same MFT set on the inside!
Not all birthday cards need to celebrate loudly!
This is a great card, I really like the simplicity of it and the little detail of the stencilled bird. Congrats on your guest designer spot xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful softly sponged stenciled trees, Arlene. Love how you made your own die cut stencil for your sweet little stenciled bird to add to your tree! So pleased you joined us as our January Guest Designer. Thank you for sharing. Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Arlene! I LOVE your row of stenciled trees. And making your own stencil using a die-cut for your bird is a great way to stretch the use of your stamps. So clever. The bright red bird really pops against the green trees. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer and helping us celebrate our one year birthday at CAS Stencil! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Arlene! Thanks for being our Guest designer this month at CAS Stencil!

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, Arlene! I love how you stenciled the trees to create different shades of this lovely green! Love your sweet little bird, too! So happy to have you as our Guest Designer for January...Barb (CAS Stencil DT)
Oh, I love your stenciled trees Arlene! They look so dimensional with the different tones of green - some look like they are peeling off the card on the points! and how creative to make a small bird stencil from a die - the little spot of red really pops off the green! So happy to have you as our Guest DT this month! xx
ReplyDeleteWonderfully CAS and love the simplicity :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being guest designer at CAS Stencil, Arlene! Love your stenciled trees and that red bird is so pretty with the mossy green trees!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card Arlene -love the stenciling, especially with the wee bird for interest and contrast.
