I hope I didn't post the wrong thing...

This was big on the Allsorts Blog Challenge this week...

Before I tell you about this weeks theme I feel I need to say a few words about challenge themes. Recently we have seen an increasing number of entries that just do not fit the theme, for instance Birthday cards when we have specifically said these are not permitted, or several colours when the theme asks for just two or three.

Being part of a weekly challenge is hard work and the team spend a lot of time commenting and preparing their work for the following week, therefor in future when a DT finds an entry that does not fit the theme they WILL NOT waste their time commenting. They will however be making notes on the DT blog to ensure that entries not fitting the theme will be omitted from the random draws.

I would like to apologize ahead of time and make sure that I read the challenge rules better in the future.
Sometimes I am not sure whether I am posting correctly not only on Allsorts but others as well.
I am going to try really hard to read the challenge theme carefully in the future!

I was thrilled with this challenge...

as I have a huge stack of old books that I like to use in my card making and according to the fine print, ha ha, old books are allowed.

I wanted also to try out my new Bigkick and a different shape to my card.
I pulled out my oval dies and went crazy.
The base card is my biggest oval but making sure the card was short enough to leave a flat edge.
Then the rust layer and then the book.
Once the book layer was cut I used my Tim Hotlz Big Leaf die to cut stencils and sponged Distress ink (Barn Door, Rusty Hinge, Fozziled Amber) using the stencil and then using my Frayed Burlap ink I softened everything!
The verse is from Simon Says Stamps "Nuts About You".

I finished with some see through rust sequins and red glitter glue.
