ecology…

This card has a special meaning to me.
I live by Lake Ontario and love the skyline and the beauty that it provides.
I also love cleaner ways of getting energy.
Our locals have voted down windmills near our lake and I am sad about it so this is the card with the windmills and the birds with the lake behind it that I will be sending.
On white card stock I applied black die cut using a die from My Favorite Things “Stitched Rectangle STAX”.
Into that i applied a rectangle of water colors to look like a lake.
I die cut the other images from an “eco city” set unknown company.

  1. I'm sorry your community voted down the windmills too, Arlene. I love how you took that energy and created a stunning card. Love the colors of the water as well. Thank you so much for sharing it with us at the Paper Players this week.

  2. The windmills become part of the landscape after a while. A shame you've been voted down. Your card is gorgeous. The wind turbines and birds look stunning against your watercoloured sky/water. Thanks for joining in with us The Paper Players this week.

  3. Unfortunately, although a 'clean' energy source, there is a noise factor to the windmills, and also bird strike is known 'side effect'... it's always a balancing act.
Love your card, the water colours on the panel are beautiful, especially with the silhouette images
    Blessings

  4. Arlene... love your statement card. The CASness, the colors and the meaning. I strongly believe in clean energy as well. My father's homestead in Co. Cavan, Ireland is now the largest windmill farm in the country supplying energy to thousands of homes in central Ireland. The windmills do not detract from the countryside and the sheep graze all around. I am sorry your windmill initiative was voted down... so many in the US have been voted down as well.
