I was so excited to see this “use your scraps” challenge.
I have two bins of scraps...
The one on the left is for card stocks, watercolor paper and patterned papers.
The one on the right is for the specialty papers that I used to cover card board for booklets.
That is also the papers that I use for a technique from a LONG time ago.
I decided to do the technique again but update it.
The original card looked like this when done...
The technique is to tear up pieces of the specialty papers and glue them to a piece of card stock with a glue stick.
Once dry you cut the piece into squares and apply it to another piece of card stock and then to the base card.
To update it I decided to use dies to cut the specialty papers piece.
The base card is kraft card stock with a layer of brown card stock that I die cut using dies from Impression Obsessions “DIE174-W” set.
To that I applied a piece of scrap from my specialty bin.
After the glue dried on the piece I made from my specialty papers I die cut the leaves using Paper Smooches “Large Leaves” and attached them with glue dots.
The sentiment was glued to the front to finish the card.
This is a great technique to use for your specialty paper scraps! Gorgeous card as a result, as well. Thanks for linking up with us at Seize the Birthday!
