Well, I haven’t done this challenge in a long time but it looked like fun so here goes.
The card on the left is made for the students who will hopefully be coming back to the college near our town.
The base card is cream card stock with brown flecks.
The rust card stock layer was die cut using a die from
MFT Die-namics “Stitched Rectangle STAX” and run through the BigKick with We R Memory Keepers “quilted” embossing folder.
To that I applied three kraft card stock circles, one with the sentiment from Verve Stamps “Blue Skies” set stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink and leaving two plain
Using the die from the same set I cut out two butterflies with black card stock and glue dotted them to the blank circles.
The thank you card on the right is a white card stock base card with a layer of blue card die cut with a die from MFT Die-namics “Blueprints #27”.
The main piece is white card stock stamped with butterfly stamps from the same set using Kaleidacolor creole spice ink.
Using MFT Die-namics “Simply Thanks” die I cut out one fro blue card stock and one from black craft foam and applied them to the front of the card.
To finish I stamped the large butterfly with the same ink on white card stock and die cut it out with the coordinating die before foa taping it to the card front.
Two distinctly different, fantastic cards! Your flutter-by bg is terrific too!

Welcome back to you, Arlene! I really love the way you've designed your two cards! There is a ton of interest on both with the wonderful textured embossed background on the fist and the pretty designer stamped background on the second! I also love the scalloped frame and the way you popped up the THANKS! I hope you are keeping well and come back often! Thank you so much for playing along in Twofer Card challenge #29! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI love that wonderful quilted look as the background to your solid butterflies on your welcome back card. Our daughter will be starting college this fall, but it will all be online after Thanksgiving, but we still pay room and board. Such is life these days. Your thanks card has such beautiful variation of colors on those butterflies! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome back card is so striking and dramatic, Arlene ... and wonderfully texture-y and dimensional! What a fabulous flurry of delicate butterflies on your thanks card ... the colours are brilliant and bold ... and really pop against the white! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
