Mr. Singer...

If I haven’t mentioned it before I will now...I love antique sewing machines.
In fact I collect them and have mostly Singer sewing machines.
So that is why I am honoring Mr. Singer and his sewing machines with this “Let’s Hear It For The Boys” Challenge.
The base card is cream card stock with a layer of dark brown card stock and a layer of kraft card stock.
The main piece is the cream card stock that I sponged through the Tim Holtz “gears” layering stencil using two shades of brown Distress ink.
The verse is from Tim Holtz “Phrases 2” stamp set and I stamped it with StazOn timber brown ink.
On another piece of the kraft card stock I stamped the sewing machine (though not a Singer it’s the most like one I have seen) with the StazOn and colored it with Prisma pencils before trimming it with scissors and applying it to the card front.

I just realized I also honored another boy by using all his products...Tim Holtz!

  1. Tim would be proud to be honored with this wonderful card! Love the stenciled background - a perfect complement to the vintage sewing machine! Thanks for playing along over at Cards in Envy!
