Years ago there was a technique called direct-to-paper thought up by, I believe, Magenta Stamps.
The card for this challenge utilizes that technique with dye ink pads instead of pigment inks or chalk inks.
I used Adirondack caramel and rust ink pads a smeared, very technical term, them onto cream card stock.
Using cream card stock for the base card I DTP(direct to paper) the three edges that were to be left bare with Adirondack caramel.
Before layering the pre-cut DTP piece, I sponged Adirondack espresso ink around the edge of the piece and stamped the verse from Tim Holtz verses in the same ink.
The flower was made by cutting three of the flowers on the Sizzix Tim Holtz "Tattered Flowers"die twice and DTP with caramel ink.
I also crinkled them.
To finish off the flower, before layering it to the card I cut a small circle from the main piece and sponged the espresso around the edge.
The flowers pieces were then layered to the front of the card and glued it to the center.
