Quick and Easy Soldier Card

Soldiers have been close to my heart for many years. One Uncles served in WWII and Korea, my husband served in Viet Nam and a dear friends son-in-law served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
As we approach Memorial day I thought it would be nice to give you a quick and easy card to make to give to a service person. We must never forget to thank them for their service to our country.

As you can see the card is very easy to make but would mean so much to any service person to receive it. The base card is red card stock (8.5" x 5.5") folded in half. On that I layered a blue card piece  (3.75" x 5").
I cut a piece of white card stock (3.5" x 4.75") and using red dye ink (Adirondack red pepper) I inked up the large star from my Stampin Up set "Old Glory". Stamp this off once on scrap paper then stamp onto the white piece.
Then ink up the Soldier saying stamp from Paper Inspirations using navy blue dye ink (Adirondack denim) and stamp into the lower right of the card. Use any corner punch on the white piece and layer onto your card front.
Done!!!

If you don't have or can't find the saying you could print a saying out on your printer just thanking the soldier from your heart. If you can't find the star (it's and OLD set), try cutting out a star from card stock and  use it as a stencil!

I would really like you to send cards to say thank you and if you are interested in helping in other ways or want to find an address to send your cards here is a link to sign up to be a soldier angel!

Thank you for helping a great cause!!!

  1. Great post Arlene...and great card! I love those phrase stamps from Paper Inspirations. This one is perfect for soldiers. I have to get it in gear and send some, especially with Memorial day coming!
