Little girls and school...

This card was such fun to make as it took me back and forward.
My Granddaughter is growing so quickly that school is now only two years away.
The past are my school days where reading and bookmarks meant the world to me.
In fact I still have a smaller collection of bookmarks that friends have given me over the years.

The base card is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored on the 2" mark and 4" from the 2" line.
I cut two pieces of patterned paper that I glued one to the left side of the card to make a full base card.
The other was to cover the coloring on the back side of the bookmark piece (more on that later).
On the bookmark piece I stamped Santoro "No.2 New Heights" with Adirondack espresso then colored it in using  my Chameleon pens.
Once it was completely dry I used a straight edge and my exacto knife to cut perforations along the side so that he bookmark could be removed.
I cut a piece of ribbon in half and with tape applied it to the back of the book mark.
At this point you can run more tape around the entire book mark and glue down that extra patterned paper piece.

If you look closely at the right edge you can see the perforations!

  1. Very cute and I really like how you made it into a book mark. Thanks for joining us at Little Red Wagon this week.
